Stokes and anti-Stokes temporal quantum correlation in Raman Scattering
In this work we study the correlated Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman scattering process, called here SaS. The SaS, proposed by Klyshko in 1977 [1], is an effect where the same phonon participates in the Stokes and anti-Stokes scattering processes. The Feynman diagrams of Figure 1 show the Stokes (S), the anti-Stokes (as) and the SaS processes. The SaS process has not been considered in current tre...
متن کاملCoherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering and spontaneous Raman spectroscopy and microscopy of microalgae with nitrogen depletion
Microalgae are extensively researched as potential feedstocks for biofuel production. Energy-rich compounds in microalgae, such as lipids, require efficient characterization techniques to investigate the metabolic pathways and the environmental factors influencing their accumulation. The model green alga Coccomyxa accumulates significant amounts of triacylglycerols (TAGs) under nitrogen depleti...
متن کاملAnti-Stokes Raman conversion in silicon waveguides.
The first observation of parametric down-conversion in silicon is reported. Conversion from 1542.3nm to 1328.8nm is achieved using a CW pump laser at 1427 nm. The conversion occurs via Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (CARS) in which two pump photons and one Stokes photon couple through a zone-center optical phonon to an anti-Stokes photon. The maximum measured Stokes/anti-Stokes power con...
متن کاملPolarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering microscopy.
We report polarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (P-CARS) microscopy that allows vibrational imaging with high sensitivity and spectral selectivity. The nonresonant background signals from both Raman scatterers and the solvent are efficiently suppressed in P-CARS microscopy. We demonstrate P-CARS imaging of unstained cells based on the contrast of the protein amide I band.
متن کاملInline holographic coherent anti-Stokes Raman microscopy.
We demonstrate a simple approach for inline holographic coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy, in which a layer of uniform nonlinear medium is placed in front of a specimen to be imaged. The reference wave created by four-wave mixing in the nonlinear medium can interfere with the CARS signal generated in the specimen to result in an inline hologram. We experimentally and theor...
